Oppo K15 Pro tease raises curiosity as a surprise feature leaks before launch

Oppo K15 Pro Series Launches set for April 1

Oppo has confirmed that the Oppo K15 Pro series will launch in China on April 1, with the lineup said to include the Oppo K15 Pro and Oppo K15 Pro+. The company also said the launch will bring the Oppo Watch X3 Mini and the Oppo Enco Clip 2 on the same date.

The phones are being positioned for mobile gamers, with teasers pointing to active cooling fans. Oppo has not said whether the K15 Pro models will come to India, even though it recently launched the Oppo K14 series in the country earlier this month.

What Oppo has confirmed

In a post on Weibo, Oppo confirmed the April 1 launch date for the Oppo K15 Pro series in China. The company’s teasers say the lineup will include cooling fans and that the devices will be aimed at mobile gamers, similar to the Oppo K13 Turbo Pro.

Alongside the phones, Oppo will launch the Oppo Watch X3 Mini, described as a smaller version of the Oppo Watch X3, and the Oppo Enco Clip 2. Oppo’s teaser also confirms that the Enco Clip 2 will be tuned by Danish audio firm Dynaudio.

Oppo K15 Pro series specifications and leaks

Details shared through leaks over the past few months suggest the Oppo K15 Pro may come with a MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chip. The same reports point to a 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPS OLED display, a 50-megapixel rear camera, and a large battery.

Earlier reports had also linked the phone to a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip, though that was said before the current leaks. A tipster at that time had claimed Oppo could equip the handset with an 8,000mAh battery.

In China, the predecessor to the Oppo K15 Pro would be the K13 Turbo Pro, since the Oppo K14 series was not introduced in that market. That model carries a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip, a 6.80-inch 1.5K AMOLED screen, a 50-megapixel primary rear camera, and a vapour chamber cooling system. It also has IPX6, IPX8 and IPX9 ratings for water resistance.

Oppo has not shared a full specification sheet for the K15 Pro series yet, and the April 1 event remains the key confirmed date. The company’s China launch will also serve as the stage for the Watch X3 Mini and Enco Clip 2, with the accessory details limited to what Oppo has already shown in teasers.
