Redmi 15A 5G arrives in India

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 15A 5G smartphone in India with a 6,300mAh battery, UNISOC T8300 5G SoC and a 6.9-inch HD+ display. The company says the phone can last up to two days on a single charge, and it also brings AI-based features such as Google Gemini and Circle to Search.

The Redmi 15A 5G is offered in three memory variants. The 4GB RAM + 64GB storage model is priced at Rs 12,999, while the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage option costs Rs 14,499. The top variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at Rs 16,499. The phone comes in Awesome Blue, Amaze Purple and Ace Black.

Redmi 15A 5G price and availability

Xiaomi said the Redmi 15A 5G will go on sale from April 3 through the company’s official website, Flipkart and select Xiaomi retail outlets. The launch places the phone in the budget 5G segment, with storage and colour options already listed by the company.

Redmi 15A 5G specifications and features

The Redmi 15A 5G is powered by the UNISOC T8300 5G SoC and is paired with up to 6GB RAM and up to 128GB internal storage. Xiaomi said the storage can be expanded up to 2TB through a microSD card. The handset runs HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.

On the display side, the phone gets a 6.9-inch HD+ panel with up to 120Hz refresh rate and 800 nits peak brightness. Xiaomi said the screen carries TUV certifications for reduced eye strain during long use, and it also includes Wet Touch Technology 2.0 so the display responds accurately even with damp hands.

For cameras, the Redmi 15A 5G comes with a 32MP rear camera setup and an 8MP front camera. The battery is one of the main features: a 6,300mAh unit with 15W charging support and reverse charging. The company said reverse charging allows users to charge other devices from the phone.

Other specifications include an IP52 rating for dust and water resistance, stereo speakers with up to 200 per cent volume boost, dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.4. The handset weighs 210g.

Xiaomi also said the Redmi 15A 5G includes AI-based features such as Google Gemini, Circle to Search and Xiaomi Interconnectivity. The company claims four years of Android updates and six years of security patches for the phone. With the launch now official, sales are set to begin on April 3 across Xiaomi’s own channels and partner retail stores.
