To qualify, users need to have specific firmware already installed. For the Reno15 Pro line, the required builds are CPH2813_16.0.8.300(EX01) or CPH2813_16.0.9.400(EX01). That detail matters because the Beta Program option will not appear until the device is on one of those versions. In other words, the registration process is not just about signing up. The phone itself has to meet the firmware requirement first.

This structure suggests OPPO is separating testing across multiple mid-premium devices before it talks about a wider list of ColorOS 17 eligible devices. That is usually how a cautious beta rollout works. It gives the company a smaller pool of users, fewer variables, and more control over feedback during the first stage of Android 17 testing.

OPPO Global Community beta points to a wider Android 17 rollout plan

The registrations were posted through the OPPO Global Community beta channel, and the application flow is simple enough to follow: open Settings, go to About device, then tap Beta Program and Apply Now. For users already on the required firmware, that is the path into the closed beta queue.

The Find X9 Pro closed beta is the clearest example of how tight this phase is. OPPO has capped participation at 300 users, and the application window is only open from August 6 to August 7. That short window leaves very little room for delay, so eligible users will need to check their software version first and apply quickly if they want a chance at early access.

The Find X9 Pro also needs firmware CPH2791_16.0.9.400(EX01) before the Beta Program option shows up. Once that requirement is met, the recruitment becomes available for the premium flagship, making it part of OPPO’s first batch of Android 17 testing. The limited access suggests the company is still in the pressure-testing stage, not the wider distribution stage.

Across the Find X9 Pro, Reno15 Pro, and Reno15 Pro Mini programmes, the pattern is consistent. OPPO is opening ColorOS 17 closed beta testing in a controlled way, with device-specific firmware gates and small user caps. That makes sense for an early software build, since closed testing is usually meant to catch issues before a public release.
