Dell Brings Back XPS 14 and XPS 16 in India Starting at Rs 2,05,990
Dell restores XPS lineup in India
Dell XPS 14 and XPS 16 launch in India, bringing back the XPS name in its premium laptop range. The two models start at Rs 2,05,990 and Rs 2,78,550, and both are built around Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors. Dell says the laptops are rebuilt from scratch, use a redesigned thermal system, and are the thinnest and lightest XPS devices it has made so far.
The XPS 14 and XPS 16 are available through Dell.com, Dell Exclusive Stores, and select large retail outlets. At launch, Dell is also offering 10% cashback of up to Rs 15,000 on HDFC, SBI, and ICICI bank cards, along with no-cost EMI options for 9 and 12 months.
Design, display and hardware details
The most visible change is the XPS logo, which now sits at the centre of the lid. Dell says the update came from fan feedback. Both laptops are made from CNC-machined aluminium and Gorilla Glass 3, with a design that keeps parting lines minimal. The XPS 14 is 14.6mm thick and weighs 1.36kg, while the XPS 16 weighs 1.65kg. The traditional function row has also returned, after being absent in earlier versions.
Inside, both systems use Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors with Intel Arc graphics. Dell says the top configurations include the Intel Core Ultra X7 358H with 32GB of LPDDR5X memory. The company also claims the XPS 14 delivers up to 57% faster AI performance and the XPS 16 up to 78% faster AI performance compared with previous generations. Dell says graphics performance is more than 50% faster as well.
- Processor: Intel Core Ultra Series 3
- Graphics: Intel Arc graphics with 12 Xe cores
- Top configuration: Intel Core Ultra X7 358H
- Memory: Up to 32GB LPDDR5X
- Thickness: XPS 14 at 14.6mm
- Weight: XPS 14 at 1.36kg, XPS 16 at 1.65kg
- Displays: 2K LCD, 2.8K Tandem OLED, 3.2K Tandem OLED touch
The display options include a 2K LCD panel and 2.8K or 3.2K Tandem OLED touch displays. Dell says the Tandem OLED uses two OLED panels for better brightness, colour stability, and panel life than standard OLEDs. It also consumes up to 30% less power than the previous generation’s display. The 2K LCD panel is said to use up to 15% less power. Both screens carry Eyesafe certification. Audio comes from a concealed 10W quad-speaker system with 360-degree spatial sound. The webcam uses an 8MP sensor with 4K capture capability in an ultra-narrow module.
Battery, thermals and pricing
Dell says the new thermal system has been redesigned. The new fans are about 61% larger than before but still thinner, and the company says that leads to an 8-degree cooler base temperature and 36% quieter operation under load. Dell also says the XPS 14 and XPS 16 are the first laptops to feature batteries with the highest energy density at 900Wh/L. On its own figures, the lineup can deliver up to 27 hours of Netflix streaming or more than 40 hours of local video playback.
The laptops carry ENERGY STAR certification and EPEAT Gold with Climate+ registration. Dell says the keycaps use recycled steel, the batteries contain recycled cobalt and copper, both models come in 100% sustainable packaging, and modular USB-C ports are designed to make repairs easier and reduce e-waste over the product’s lifespan.
Pricing for India places both models in the premium segment. The XPS 14 starts at Rs 2,05,990, while the XPS 16 is priced at Rs 2,78,550. Dell says the machines compete with the Apple MacBook Pro 14 and 16 and Samsung’s Galaxy Book6 lineup in the Indian market. The company’s launch offer includes 10% cashback up to Rs 15,000 on eligible bank cards and no-cost EMI options for 9 and 12 months.
The new XPS 14 and XPS 16 are now on sale through Dell’s own channels and selected retail stores. Dell positions the pair as a major return for its XPS brand in India, with the focus on lighter weight, new display choices, and a rebuilt design package.
