Google Pixel 10 Adds Steam Game Support With GameNative 0.9.0

GameNative v0.9.0 brings Pixel 10 support

Google Pixel 10 users can now run Steam games through GameNative v0.9.0, a pre-release update that adds initial support for the phone’s PowerVR GPU on the Tensor G5 chipset. The update opens the door for games from the Steam storefront to run more reliably on the handset, according to the release details.

Until now, emulator support has largely centered on Adreno GPUs in Snapdragon processors, with weaker support for other graphics units. GameNative’s latest build is intended to close that gap for Pixel devices with different GPU architecture.

Pixel 10 emulation gets broader compatibility

The new version is the first to add PowerVR GPU support for the Pixel 10, which is the hardware change highlighted in the release. With that in place, users can run games such as Stardew Valley and Hades on the phone through emulation. The update is being described as an early step rather than a final release, and the software remains in pre-release form.

GameNative v0.9.0 also extends support beyond handheld use. It adds compatibility with desktop environments such as Samsung DeX and similar OEM desktop modes, along with improved navigation using a mouse and keyboard. The app now offers better support for external peripherals as well, which is relevant for users connecting the phone to an external monitor.

The release includes several usability changes. A new carousel-style user interface has been added, along with Steam Workshop integration and support for different Steam branches. The app also introduces dedicated pages for managing downloads and storage, plus an option to disable cloud saves on a per-game basis.

New tools, fixes and pre-release limits

Another addition is a battery temperature metric in the performance overlay, giving users more detail on thermal behaviour during longer sessions. GameNative v0.9.0 also includes fixes for Steam cloud save syncing problems and crashes that occurred when pausing games.
