Redmi A7 Could Launch Soon as NBTC Certification Emerges
Launch & Certification Signs
The Thailand NBTC has listed a new redmi A7 that's registered with certificate number B38097-26 and model number 26020RNB4A. The listing shows that it will support GSM, WCDMA and LTE networks, which means it is 4G capable but does NOT mean that it has any 5G capabilities. The NBTC Listing has also confirmed that the redmi A7 is made in China, and does not have any other product specifications listed, so it is very likely to launch soon.
In another note, the Redmi A7 is expected to share most specifications with the Poco C81 Pro, a model that was recently spotted on NBTC with a different certification number. This alignment hints at upgrades over the Redmi A5 that appeared previously.
The Redmi A7 Pro has also shown up on multiple regulator databases, including TDRA in the UAE, the US FCC, NBTC in Thailand, and Indonesia SDPPI. The convergence of listings across several regions signals a broader rollout in the near future and suggests that both the standard A7 and the Pro variant may be unveiled in a short time frame.
Specs and Regional Listings
Based on the current information and typical Redmi naming patterns, the Redmi A7 is speculated to be a budget 4G handset with a large display and modest core hardware. The following specifications are mentioned in the material and are listed here for reference:
- Display: 6.9 inch LCD with HD plus resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate
- Chipset: Unisoc T7250 4G
- Memory: 4 GB RAM and up to 128 GB storage
- Battery: 6000 mAh capacity with 15 W charging support
- Cameras: 50 MP main camera and about 13 MP front facing camera in earlier speculative reports
- Operating system: HyperOS based on Android 16
- Connectivity: GSM, WCDMA and LTE; no 5G
- Market positioning: a budget 4G device likely to be released alongside the Redmi A7 Pro
The evidence points to a design alignment with the Poco C81 Pro, reinforcing the sense that Redmi may reuse or adapt components across this family. While the NBTC listing confirms the model and network capabilities, it does not add other technical details, and the presence of serial listings elsewhere suggests a broader launch plan is in motion.
Market Positioning and Timing of Announcement
To date, there has been no official announcement by the manufacturer regarding a launch date. That said, the recent appearance of the A7 on the NBTC database, combined with the regulatory trends we have seen across the board, suggest to me that we should expect an official announcement in the next couple of weeks. The A7 has been marketed as a low cost 4G smartphone and it is still consistent with the overall REDMI philosophy of offering low cost products in 4G markets. Additionally, the fact that we have also seen the A7 Pro variant through the certification process in both the UAE and Indonesia, lends additional credibility to the assumption that we should see this device in the market in the near future.
Industry watchers note that the A7 may arrive together with the A7 Pro or in quick succession. The notes warn that this is based on certification activity and not on a formal press release. If launched, the A7 could sit alongside the A7 Pro as a budget option with similar hardware upgrades over earlier models like the Redmi A5.
While an exact timing is still unknown, the certification or cross-region presence helps to indicate a timeframe for when this might happen. Often manufacturers will utilize these certs to assess their preparedness for announcing products to the general public. These next steps will include, probably, the official announcement of the product and pricing details, followed by the anticipated dates for regional/market availability.
