Vivo V70 Elite Spotted on Geekbench Ahead of India Launch

The Chinese smartphone maker Vivo announced that the Vivo V70 Elite and Vivo V70 will launch in India on February 19 at 12pm local time. The V70 Elite is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, while the standard V70 uses Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. Both models will be available via Flipkart, Amazon and the Vivo India online store, with dedicated microsites now live.

The company claimed the two Vivo V70 series handsets will feature the narrowest bezels in the under Rs 50,000 price segment in India, measuring 1.25mm. Pricing is suggested to be under Rs 55,000 in India.

The phones were teased with a design that includes square-shaped rear camera modules. The V70 will come in Passion Red and Lemon Yellow, while the V70 Elite will be offered in Passion Red, Sand Beige, and Authentic Black.

A Geekbench listing had previously shown the V70 Elite with 12GB RAM, alongside an 8-series processor, aligning with an early teaser for the lineup.

Technical specifications teased for the Vivo V70 series include a 6.59-inch 1.5K display with 459 ppi, up to 120Hz refresh rate, up to 5,000 nits peak brightness and 1.07 billion colors. The lineup is said to pack a 6,500mAh battery with 90W wired charging and carry IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance ratings. In the camera department, the phones feature a Zeiss-powered 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 primary sensor with optical image stabilization, a 50-megapixel telephoto camera and an unspecified ultrawide camera.
