Vivo X300 Ultra Teleconverter Duo Extends Zoom to 1600mm Focal Length
Vivo X300 Ultra Teleconverter Duo Extends Zoom Range
Vivo has released details on the telephoto system for the upcoming X300 Ultra, focusing on two teleconverter accessories designed to work with the phone's telephoto camera. The device is set to feature four camera lenses covering focal lengths of 14mm, 35mm, 85mm, and 200mm. With optional Zeiss teleconverter accessories attached, Vivo says the system can reach a 400mm focal length, and a camera sample demonstrates the zoom capabilities of the 400mm teleconverter kit. This information comes as Vivo points to a broader imaging upgrade ahead of the handset’s debut.
According to Vivo’s product manager, Han Boxiao, the teleconverter pair includes a larger unit referred to as the Big Gun 400, and a smaller unit dubbed the Lipstick 200. The executive discussed how the Big Gun 400 offers an equivalent focal length of 400mm and can output 200-megapixel images through optical capture. When paired with the X300 Ultra’s 23mm primary camera, Vivo claims the setup yields about 17.4x optical zoom. The description emphasizes high magnification while preserving image quality at longer focal lengths.
The telephoto system supports a 3-degree optical stabilization mechanism and the Blueprint high refresh rate autofocus engine capable of capturing motion at 60 frames per second. Vivo says the arrangement maintains CIPA 4.5 image stabilization even with the teleconverter attached and is designed to support very long focal lengths, including zoom levels up to 1600mm. The emphasis here is on maintaining image stability while pushing reach, a combination often challenging for integrated telephoto setups.
The second accessory, the Lipstick 200mm, is presented as a lighter option. Vivo says this version weighs around 153g, about 27 percent lighter than the earlier Big Gun model, while upgrading the optical system from 13 lens elements to 15. Despite the reduced size, the Lipstick 200mm claims improved optical performance and supports CIPA 6.5 image stabilization. In addition, Vivo notes 14 shooting modes for this teleconverter, including portrait, stage, slow motion, Live Photo, dual view video recording, and mid-video capture. The branding and naming of these units are presented as part of Vivo’s approach to balancing portability with optical reach.
The Vivo X300 Ultra was previously showcased at Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, where the company highlighted an upgraded camera system. The handset is expected to feature a 200-megapixel Sony LYT-901 primary camera and a 200-megapixel Zeiss Thanos periscope telephoto camera based on Samsung’s HP0 sensor. Vivo has not released a full specification sheet beyond these highlights, but the telephoto system is positioned as a central element of the device’s imaging capabilities. The project’s framing shows a strong emphasis on stabilization, autofocus, and high-resolution capture across long focal lengths.
Vivo’s BlueImage imaging technology is described as improving colour accuracy, autofocus performance, HDR processing, and power efficiency. The telephoto camera is described as adopting a gimbal-style optical stabilization concept, with the company claiming CIPA 7.0 professional-grade stabilisation. The combination of BlueImage and gimbal-style stabilization aims to deliver consistently sharp results even at higher magnifications, according to Vivo’s presentation and summaries from the event materials.
Regarding the availability and pricing, the device is reportedly going to be priced between £1650 and £1750 in the UK as a rough estimate at this time, based on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip which is manufactured using a 3nm process, a 2K Resolution 6.82' Flat LTPO OLED Screen, and a 7000mAh Battery that will allow for 100w Wired Charging as well as 40w Wireless charging capabilities.
The above specifications would be what we would expect to see on the X300 Ultra as part of the company's overall strategy for their flagship products moving forward. In terms of the camera experience (telephoto), high-end photographic quality will be targeted, through telephoto capability or quality, with longer reach and high-resolution image capture being benefits of this device.
Details about availability and final specifications may evolve as the debut approaches, but the current disclosures highlight the core ideas: two teleconverter accessories, a 400mm and a 200mm option, long-reach capability up to 1600mm, 200MP output potential, and stabilization and autofocus features designed to support sustained high-magnification imaging.
