A China-based rumor suggests the Redmi K Pad 2 is in development and could arrive before the end of June. The Redmi K Pad was launched in June last year as the brand's premier flagship small tablet.

The K Pad 2 is said to reuse the same 8.8-inch LCD with 165Hz refresh rate and 1880x3008 resolution as its predecessor. It would be powered by the Dimensity 9500 SoC and carry a 9,000 mAh battery, upgrades over the original's Dimensity 9400+ and 7,500 mAh capacity.

The device is expected to feature dual X-axis vibration motors and enhanced symmetrical dual speakers that may be Bose branded, though the presence of a subwoofer has not been mentioned for the tablet.

Because the original K Pad was rebranded in some international markets as the Xiaomi Pad Mini, it is reasonable to expect the K Pad 2 could appear outside China as the Xiaomi Pad Mini 2.
