Redmi has confirmed that the K90 Max will launch in China next week, with the event set for April 21 at 7:00pm local time, or 4:30pm IST. The Xiaomi sub-brand also shared fresh teasers that outline the phone’s display, speakers and a few other features, while pre-reservations are already open in China.
The Redmi K90 Max is positioned as the third model in the K90 series. It will join the Redmi K90 and Redmi K90 Pro Max, and the brand has confirmed a 6.83-inch M10 display with a 165Hz refresh rate, up to 3500nits peak brightness and Bose-tuned stereo speakers.
Launch details and confirmed features
In a social media post on Monday, Redmi said the K90 Max will go on sale in China next week. The launch event is fixed for April 21. The company’s teaser images on Weibo point to a gaming-focused phone with a dual-core air cooling system for thermal management. Redmi also says the screen can support 160fps in over 40 games, along with a 3500Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate and a 480Hz multi-finger touch sampling rate.

Pre-reservations and colour option
Redmi has started accepting pre-reservations for the Redmi K90 Max through its official website in China. Customers who pre-book the handset can get up to CNY 1,200, roughly Rs. 12,000, as a trade-in discount when they exchange an old smartphone. The device is confirmed to come in a Space Silver colour option, translated from Chinese.
The company had earlier said the Redmi K90 Max will carry an IP66 + IP68 + IP69-rated build. Other details remain in the rumour space for now, including a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, 100W wired charging support and a battery capacity said to exceed 8000mAh. Those specifications are not confirmed by Redmi in the materials shared so far.
Redmi K90 Max joins K90 series
The Redmi K90 Max will be the third model in the K90 lineup, following the Redmi K90 Pro Max and the standard Redmi K90. The two existing models were launched in China in October last year with Android 16-based HyperOS 3 and triple rear camera units. Redmi’s K90 Pro Max uses a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC and has a 7,560mAh battery, while the standard Redmi K90 runs on a Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC and packs a 7,100mAh battery.
No camera details for the Redmi K90 Max were mentioned in the latest teasers, and the company has not added more launch-day information beyond the date, time and selected features. The next update is expected around the April 21 launch event in China.
