Xiaomi Mijia Smart Audio Glasses Debut With Open-Ear Audio and Wear Sensors
Xiaomi Mijia Smart Audio Glasses hands-on
The Titanium version of Xiaomi’s Mijia Smart Audio Glasses is priced at €199 in the hands-on review. Built-in speakers sit in the temples to provide an open-ear listening experience, paired with quad microphones for hands-free calls and the ability to record calls and surrounding audio.
The Titanium variant is the lightest of the styles, weighing just over 34 grams with lenses. It uses 5mm slim plastic temples; lenses can be swapped for prescription lenses. The glasses carry an IP54 rating against dust and water splashes, handling moderate rain.
Lenses in the traditional version block 25% of incoming blue light, and the pilot style includes UV400 protection. The browline and pilot styles are also available.
In terms of specifications, Xiaomi claims up to 13 hours of playback from the speakers, and a full recharge from 0 to 100% takes about an hour.
The build quality is described as excellent, with the two-in-one design appealing to regular glasses wearers who typically use wireless earbuds. The reviewer notes dispensing with extra earphones can be refreshing for long wear.
Wear detection sensors pause and resume media playback when the glasses are removed and reinserted.
A dedicated Xiaomi Glasses app controls additional features. It is described as a barebones companion that allows reassigning gesture controls, managing connected devices and recordings.
Overall, the Mijia Smart Audio Glasses offer strong build quality, pleasing sound, and features such as audio and call recording, though they may not be the most feature-rich option on the market.
The addition of a camera would be a logical step for successors, and Xiaomi’s next moves in the high-stakes smart glasses market will be watched closely.
