According to Macworld, citing sources familiar with the matter, Apple will market its first book-style foldable under the Ultra name, bringing that branding to iPhones for the first time. The handset is expected to arrive alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, while recent schematics of the rumoured foldable have already surfaced online and showed its design.

The naming is still not confirmed by Apple. Leaks in the past had suggested the device could be called either the iPhone Fold or the iPhone Ultra. The latest report points to iPhone Ultra as the chosen name, and says the phone will sit as a separate lineup rather than follow the company’s standard, Pro, and Pro Max naming pattern. That would put it in line with the iPhone Air, which launched globally in September last year.

Apple has used Ultra branding before on products such as the Apple Watch Ultra series. That line also sits apart from the main Apple Watch Series naming, and the publication says this adds weight to the idea that Apple may use the same approach for its first foldable iPhone. The company, however, has not confirmed any of these product plans.

MacBook Ultra could bring OLED touchscreen support

The report also says Apple is preparing a new MacBook lineup called the MacBook Ultra. This model is said to feature an OLED touchscreen, which would be a first for the Mac lineup. The same moniker had already appeared in a recent report about an OLED MacBook with touch support, and the latest claim appears to line up with that earlier detail.

On timing, the laptop is expected to launch later this year, but the report says the debut could be postponed to the first half of 2027. The reason given is an ongoing RAM and memory shortage. No launch date has been confirmed by Apple, and the company has not publicly outlined details for either the iPhone Ultra or the MacBook Ultra.
