AT&T Unveils amiGO Jr Phone and amiGO Jr Watch 2 for Kids

Overview

AT&T announces two kid-focused devices, the amiGO Jr Phone and the amiGO Jr Watch 2, developed with Samsung on a Galaxy A17 5G base. The amiGO Jr Phone is a custom version of the Galaxy A17 5G designed for children aged 12 and under. The amiGO app, available on Android and iOS, provides parents with remote control and an overview of the kid's phone. The app works across platforms and ties the device into a family-oriented safety and monitoring workflow.

With the amiGO app, parents can keep tabs on the kid’s real-time location, set Safe Zones to receive alerts when Junior leaves a designated area, and view the phone’s battery state. A built-in step counter gives a basic activity readout, and the app displays battery levels to help remind kids to charge before leaving for school. The system also includes controls for screen time and app usage, featuring School Mode and scheduled restrictions to manage when certain features are available.

If a smaller, more limited option is preferred, families can opt for the AT&T amiGO Jr Watch 2. This device emphasizes location monitoring and basic communication while offering 30 pre-approved contacts for calls and texts, delivering essential safety functions without the full set of phone capabilities.

Both devices are available through AT&T on a $3-a-month installment plan, plus taxes and fees. The amiGO Jr Phone carries a $210 full retail price, while the amiGO Jr Watch 2 is priced at $170. AT&T notes the devices are available through its channels, with purchase links provided for both products.

These products mark AT&T’s push into kid-focused hardware with parental control features tied to a cross-platform app, designed to help parents manage usage while offering real-time location awareness and safety features for younger users.
