iPhone 18 Pro Leaks Point to Split Launch and A20 Pro Chip
Display and hardware upgrades
Leaks about Apple's iPhone 18 Pro lineup describe a shift in design and performance. An under display area is expected to replace the current Dynamic Island, and the Pro models are said to be powered by the A20 Pro chip built on a 2nm process. The information also points to a split launch plan, with Pro models arriving in September 2026 and standard models in early 2027. Advanced camera upgrades, including a mechanical iris, are anticipated.
Launch timeline and pricing in India
According to the leaks, Apple may release the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max separately from the standard iPhone 18 lineup. Pro models are expected to launch in September 2026, while the base iPhone 18, iPhone 18e and the next generation iPhone Air could follow in early 2027.
Display details indicate both Pro models will keep 120 Hz refresh rates, with the iPhone 18 Pro at 6.27 inches and the iPhone 18 Pro Max at 6.86 inches. The under display area is said to replace the Dynamic Island while retaining similar display sizes to the iPhone 17 Pro series.
The iPhone 18 Pro models are expected to be powered by Apple's A20 Pro chip. The chip is tipped to be Apple's first built on a 2nm process and to use Wafer Level Multi-Chip Module packaging.
Leaks also suggest a mechanical iris on at least one rear camera, allowing variable aperture control and better exposure handling in difficult lighting conditions.
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to launch in India in September 2026, while the remaining models could arrive in early 2027 if Apple goes ahead with a split launch. Pricing in India is tentatively noted as around Rs 1,34,900 for the iPhone 18 Pro and Rs 1,49,900 for the iPhone 18 Pro Max, with final pricing varying by storage options and configurations.
