iPhone 18 Pro Leak reveals designs and colours Apple might be hiding
iPhone 18 Pro leak shows new colour options
Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro lineup may come in grey, silver and dark red, according to a recent leak from a tipster on Weibo. The post also included an unofficial render, while Apple has not confirmed any colour details for the models expected later this year.
The leak adds to earlier reports that Apple may continue to skip a black finish on the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. It also comes as other claims point to a smaller punch-hole camera cutout, a 2nm A20 Pro chip, a battery above 5,000mAh and upgraded cameras.
Weibo post suggests dark red finish for Pro models
According to the Weibo post by tipster WhyLab, translated from Chinese, the iPhone 18 Pro series could be offered in grey, silver and a dark red finish. The post included an early render that showed how those colours might look on the upcoming devices. The images are not official, but they offer the first public look in this round of leaks.
The dark red variant is being watched closely in the leak cycle because Apple has not offered a red finish on a Pro model in recent years. Earlier reports, including claims from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, had suggested that Apple was testing a deeper red shade for the iPhone 18 Pro lineup. The reports tie that possibility to the aluminium unibody design introduced with the previous generation, which is said to allow more flexibility in colour choices.
Black finish may stay off the Pro lineup
Previous leaks have suggested that Apple may again leave out a black colour option for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The iPhone 17 Pro series also did not include black, instead arriving in blue, orange and silver. The orange version reportedly drew strong demand in some markets, including China.
If the dark red option is finalised, it would mark the return of a red iPhone since 2022, when Apple last offered the colour on non-Pro models, including the iPhone SE (2022). Apple has not confirmed any part of the colour lineup, and the final version could still change before launch.
Early design and hardware details remain unconfirmed
Separate leaks have suggested that the iPhone 18 Pro could feature a smaller punch-hole camera cutout than the current model. Other visual changes are expected to be limited, based on the reports that have surfaced so far. A leaked screen protector has also been linked to speculation about the future of Apple’s Dynamic Island.
Beyond the design talk, the iPhone 18 Pro models are expected to launch in September, according to the input data. They may also come with a 2nm A20 Pro chip, a battery above 5,000mAh and upgraded cameras. None of those details has been confirmed by Apple yet.
- Reported colour options: grey, silver, dark red
- Possible finishes shown in unofficial render
- Black colour may be skipped again
- Expected launch: September
- Rumoured hardware: 2nm A20 Pro chip
- Possible battery: above 5,000mAh
- Possible design change: smaller punch-hole camera cutout
The leak arrives as speculation continues around the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max ahead of Apple’s expected launch later this year. For now, the colour details, design changes and hardware claims remain unconfirmed.
