Motorola Edge 70 Pro arrives in India
Motorola Edge 70 Pro Launches in India, with pricing starting at Rs 38,999 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The new smartphone goes on sale exclusively through Flipkart from April 29, and the launch offer can bring the starting price down to Rs 36,999 with select bank card discounts.
The handset succeeds the Motorola Edge 60 Pro and brings changes across performance, battery, and cameras. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme SoC, carries a 6.8-inch 144Hz AMOLED display, and includes a 6,500mAh battery with 90W wired charging.
Motorola Edge 70 Pro price in India and availability
The Motorola Edge 70 Pro is priced at Rs 38,999 for the base 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model. The higher 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant is listed at Rs 41,999. Motorola has introduced the phone in three Pantone-certified colours: tea, lily white, and titan.
The phone will be sold exclusively via Flipkart starting April 29. Motorola said buyers can get discounts of up to Rs 2,100 using select bank cards, which reduces the effective price to as low as Rs 36,999.
Design and build details
Motorola has kept the Edge 70 Pro slim and light. The device measures 6.9mm in thickness and weighs 190 grams. It uses curved edges rather than a flat-side frame, and the front is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. The company has also used an aluminium alloy unibody for the frame and back structure.
Each colour variant comes with a different finish. Pantone lily white has a marble-like finish, Pantone titan uses a fabric-like nylon finish, and Pantone tea gets a satin lux finish. The handset also carries MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability along with IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance.
Motorola Edge 70 Pro specifications
The Edge 70 Pro is built around a set of hardware upgrades that place it in the upper mid-range segment. Motorola has fitted a 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED 10-bit panel with Super HD resolution of 2,772 x 1,272 pixels. The display supports HDR10+, a 144Hz adaptive refresh rate, 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut, and up to 5,200 nits peak brightness. Motorola also says the panel is Pantone-validated for colours and skin tones.

Under the hood, Motorola says the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme SoC is paired with a 4,600mm2 vapour chamber cooling system, LPDDR5X RAM, and UFS 4.1 storage. The company says the chip is designed to deliver smooth performance and claims an AnTuTu score of over 2.4 million. The phone boots Android 16-based Hello UI out of the box.
Motorola is promising three major Android updates and five years of security patches. That is an improvement over the previous model on the security side, though the company’s update policy still trails some rivals in the segment.
For cameras, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro uses a triple rear setup. It includes a 50MP OIS Sony LYT-710 main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide camera with macro support, and a 3-in-1 light sensor. There is no telephoto lens this time. At the front, the phone carries a 50MP selfie camera in a punch-hole cutout.
Other features include Dolby Atmos-backed dual speakers, Hi-res audio support, an in-display fingerprint scanner, moto AI features, Bluetooth v5.4, Wi-Fi 6E, and dual SIM 5G.
Motorola Edge 70 Pro enters a crowded segment
The Edge 70 Pro will compete with models such as the OnePlus Nord 6, Realme 16 Pro, Redmi Note 15 Pro+, and Nothing Phone (4a) Pro in its segment. Motorola has also made clear trade-offs, including the removal of wireless charging and a dedicated telephoto lens. The company said both were skipped because of low use cases.
Even with those omissions, the phone comes with a larger battery, faster charging, and a slimmer body than many of its rivals. Motorola Edge 70 Pro users on the Edge 60 Pro may not find a major enough jump to justify an upgrade, but the hardware package appears aimed at buyers moving up from older devices.
Sales begin on April 29 through Flipkart, and the phone will be available in the two storage options and three colour finishes mentioned above.
