OnePlus 15 Android 17 Beta 2 Update Shows Warnings Users Were Not Expecting
Android 17 Beta 2 rolls out for OnePlus 15
The OxygenOS team has officially announced Android 17 Beta 2 for the OnePlus 15, giving users an early look at the software while warning that the build is not suited for everyday use. The company says the beta is meant for power users and developers who are comfortable flashing software, and it carries known problems including a broken Cast feature, camera black screens and system UI flickering.
OnePlus also says the update will erase all data during installation, so users need to back up before proceeding. Carrier locked devices are not supported, and the company says users must be on OxygenOS 16.0.3.503 or 16.0.5.700, or anything in between, to install the open beta.
Known issues and install limits
According to the rollout details, early adopters may run into significant instability. The list of known issues includes a broken Cast feature, occasional black screens when using the camera and severe screen flickering or crashing within native system apps. App compatibility is also described as hit or miss. OnePlus strongly advises against using the build as a daily driver, saying there is a real risk of bricking the phone.

Packages are live on OnePlus Community
OnePlus says the update packages are available on the OnePlus Community page for Global, EU, India and North America. Roll back packages are also linked there in case something goes wrong. The company has not given an official release date for OxygenOS 17, but the report says it is expected at the start of Q4 2026.
The Android 17 Beta 2 release comes after Oppo announced a similar beta build for the Find X9 Pro, with OnePlus now following on the sister-brand side.
