Samsung may have given Galaxy S25 series owners a clearer timeline for the One UI 8.5 stable update, though the schedule is still not official. A screenshot shared on X suggests the rollout could begin in Korea on April 30, with a wider global and US release around May 4.

The claim comes from an X user, @MatthewReiter05, who shared a screenshot said to come from a Samsung support chat. That timeline matches an earlier tip from Tarun Vats, while Samsung is also said to be expanding the One UI 8.5 beta across more devices, including older Galaxy phones and some Galaxy Z foldables.

Timeline for Samsung Galaxy S25 series remains unofficial

According to the screenshot circulating online, the Samsung Galaxy S25 series could be first in line for the stable One UI 8.5 update in Korea at the end of this month. The wider release may follow a few days later, with the US and global rollout suggested for May 4. The dates are still not confirmed by Samsung.

The reported timing would mean the Samsung Galaxy S25 series receives the software a few months after it debuts on the Samsung Galaxy S26 series. The support-chat information lines up with a separate claim from tipster Tarun Vats, who also pointed to April 30 and May 4. Even so, support replies can be unreliable, and software plans can still shift if Samsung finds bugs late in testing.

One UI 8.5 beta is already moving through more phones

For Galaxy S25 owners in the US, the wait may be close to ending if the leak proves accurate. Samsung first opened the One UI 8.5 beta for the S25 series in December 2025, and since then it has pushed nine beta builds. Those builds have included bug fixes, design changes, and feature updates.

The company is also testing the software on older models such as the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55, along with some Galaxy Z foldables. That broader testing suggests the final version is moving through a wider device list, even as the official stable timeline is still not out from Samsung.

Some of the new features have already appeared in the beta programme and on the Samsung Galaxy S26 series before expanding to select devices. Quick Share is one of the more notable additions, since it is said to let Galaxy users send photos, videos and files directly to iPhones, iPads and Macs without third-party apps. Audio Broadcast 3 uses Auracast to send audio to nearby LE Audio devices.

Samsung’s rollout plan is said to cover a wide group of devices, starting with the Samsung Galaxy S25 series and then moving to the S24 and S23 lineups, recent Galaxy Z foldables from Gen 5 to 7, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 series, and some mid-range models, including the Samsung Galaxy A36 5G in India. Users who want early access can join the beta through the Samsung Members app and install it from Settings, though the beta may still contain bugs.
