Lloyd 1.5 Ton GLS18V5FBGST Split AC Features & Overview
Usage
The Lloyd GLS18V5FBGST Mini Split AC is built for steady indoor cooling with a rated 5.35 Kilowatts of cooling power. In regular use the room drops to a comfortable level without a loud rush of air, and the unit remains quiet around 30 dB on its calmer settings. You’ll appreciate how easy it is to bring it to life from the Remote or the App Control, and you can even try voice control if your smart setup supports it. On hot days the system’s capability to cool quickly—approaching 18°C in 45 seconds under rapid cooling—brings welcome relief when you need it most. The appearance in Warm Grey blends with many spaces, and you can feel the quality as you cycle through modes and speeds.
Capacity
With a 1.5 Tons capacity, this unit is suitable for medium to large rooms, roughly up to 180 square feet depending on insulation. The inverter allows the compressor to ramp up and down smoothly to maintain the set temperature without the abrupt on/off cycling you get with cheaper models.
Controls
Control lives at your fingertips via a Remote Control and an accompanying App Control option, plus a Direct Voice Command capability in supported ecosystems. The system supports WiFi connectivity for setup and on-demand adjustments, and the remote has a clear, tactile feel with a satisfying click when you switch modes.
Durability
Durability comes from 100% Copper tubes and a reliable rotary compressor. The unit is designed as a Mini-Split with a sturdy outdoor and indoor setup, and its weight—approximately 40.7 kg—suggests a solid build designed for regular use. The model supports a 6 in 1 Expandable cooling approach to adapt to different room conditions.
Safety
Safety and reliability are aided by a Voltage Fluctuation Alert and Stabilizer Free Operation, operating effectively across common voltage ranges. An Anti-Viral Filter plus Real Time IAQ Sensing for PM 2.5/PM 10 work together to keep air quality reasonable, while the quick-read indicators help you stay on top of maintenance.
Installation / Warranty
This is a Split System requiring outdoor and indoor installation. The product carries a Limited warranty; refer to the product page for full terms and coverage details.

Lloyd 1.5 Ton GLS18V5FBGST Split AC FAQs
It stays fairly quiet during regular cooling, especially at lower fan speeds. The fan can get quite loud when running harder, and that has been a clear complaint. For a bedroom, the low-speed setting is the better choice.
The listed annual power consumption is 752.72 units, with a 5 Star rating and 5.35 ISEER. The inverter compressor also adjusts cooling instead of running at full power all the time. That makes it a sensible pick for long summer usage.
The 1.5 ton capacity is suited to rooms around 176 square feet. Rapid Cooling is rated to reach 18°C in 45 seconds, so the room starts feeling cooler quickly. Six convertible modes also let you reduce or increase cooling as needed.
The four-way swing moves air up, down, left, and right across the room. It works well when the indoor unit is placed away from the centre of the space. The I-Feel sensor also helps adjust cooling closer to the remote's location.
Lloyd gives you Wi-Fi, direct voice commands, IAQ sensing, and six cooling modes in one unit. LG models may appeal more if you already use other LG appliances. This one suits buyers who want more controls from the AC itself.
Lloyd focuses heavily on smart controls, air sensing, and quick cooling. Daikin is usually considered first for a simpler cooling setup with fewer connected features. Pick Lloyd when app control and voice commands matter in daily use.
This model is rated to cool even at outdoor temperatures reaching 60°C. It also has Turbo Cool, a copper condenser, and a 5 Star inverter setup. Voltas may be easier to shortlist for basic cooling, while Lloyd brings more comfort and monitoring features.
Wi-Fi and app control let you operate the AC from your phone. You can change cooling settings before entering the room or while sitting away from it. The physical remote still remains useful for quick changes.
Direct voice command support lets you control basic AC functions without touching the remote. It is useful when the remote is not nearby or when your hands are occupied. The app and voice features need to be set up before they work.
The AC includes an anti-viral filter, PM2.5 filter, and air purification filter. Real-time IAQ sensing also checks PM2.5 and PM10 levels inside the room. Air quality has been described as good during operation, especially with the purifier features active.
Stabilizer-free operation is supported, along with a voltage fluctuation alert. The AC also includes low gas detection and a protective earth alert. These features make electrical monitoring easier during everyday use.
Water dripping from the indoor unit is a serious issue seen with this model. It can affect room comfort and may appear together with weaker cooling. The installation check and drain pipe need proper attention from the start.
Cooling problems have appeared alongside indoor water leakage in some ownership experiences. The AC itself has rapid cooling and Turbo Cool on paper, but installation quality still affects how well it performs. A proper drain and gas check should happen during installation.
The build is heavy at around 40.7 kg, and the indoor unit looks noticeably large on the wall. It needs a strong mounting surface and enough clearance around the sides. Smaller bedrooms may find the design visually bulky.
The remote has a tactile soft-click feel and covers the regular cooling controls. Its I-Feel and motion-based sensor features add more control than a basic handset. There are plenty of functions, so the layout takes a little time to learn.
