AI-enhanced compact camera phone

The 6.3-inch flat screen looks nice and is sufficient for most purposes. The width is almost the same as that of 6.67-inch phones, so you will hardly notice any reading issues. Its compact size and lightweight make it easy to carry and use with one hand, especially when using the camera. It has a good processor that helps to open and run apps smoothly without causing stuttering or heating issues. The phone boots up very quickly within about 15 seconds. The ultrasonic onscreen fingerprint scanner works without giving out a bright flash like in other mobiles and is also very quick. Display clarity is great even though it's only 1080p Full HD. For the small 6.3-inch screen, Full HD is best, as a higher resolution like 1.5K or 2K makes text and content look small and difficult to read. The thing I find most useful regarding this display is that it has a wider color range compared to other brand mobiles. So with this one, we can easily distinguish between shades of colors, whereas in others, shades of the same color look almost identical and are difficult to distinguish (I used the Xiaomi 14 CIVI as a reference even though it's a 1.5K panel). The stereo speaker quality is good and adds a hint of extra bass to the music when compared with other mobile devices. Just like I mentioned regarding the display's wider color range, the speakers can also produce wider audio ranges; thus, you can notice more depth in sound with more sound notes compared to other mobiles. The vibration effect on this mobile is also precise, meaning you can feel individual vibration effects rather than a full mobile body vibration. Therefore, the vibration effect will not buffer or ripple, making the sound and vibration sync nicely while playing games or during app usage that supports vibration effects. The mic sensitivity and clarity are high except in the case of video recording, which I think might be due to some camera software issue. The usefulness of this is that it can easily pick up voice commands for voice assistants such as Google Assistant, Bixby, etc., and also during calls and with apps that make use of voice, resulting in fewer voice errors or mismatches compared to other devices. The rear cameras are of great quality and provides almost the same quality as the original without causing color distortion. HDR mode, when enabled, brightens images and videos even in low light. The camera has many AI features for both recording, such as super steady mode with horizontal lock, and during editing, including removing wind noise and other distractions. It comes with a 4300 mAh battery but provides battery life similar to that of a 5000 mAh battery due to better optimizations. The phone doesn't heat up in most cases, but during long video recordings, especially at 60 fps or more, it tends to heat up. With 12 GB of RAM, it can run multiple apps in the background. Quick Share and other network functions work nicely with no interruptions or sleep issues. The YouTube audio eraser function helps amplify voice and reduce music and other noises, even though it may not perfectly remove them and might cause sound amplitude variations during playback. It has a lot of AI features for both playing media files and editing them. For example, it includes a live audio noise eraser, which works without modifying the media file. The detailed audio eraser function is also available for editing files, with specific focus areas such as voice, nature, and noise, etc., with automatic value selection. Text AI editing functions, such as grammar check, summarization, and translation, all work nicely from the text marking area itself without the need for third-party apps. The same goes for photo and video editing. Cameras have detailed customization options and even have a separate app for doing it. For example, the ability to turn off the screen after a few minutes during long video recording is available. Audio live translation is available for regular conversations and calls. There is also an automatic call screening function that automatically answers and collects data from the calling person. Thus, for AI features, Samsung definitely has the edge. Video recording camera stabilization is great. It provides gimbal-like stabilization without using the super steady and super steady with horizontal lock features, which are not very useful as they crop and significantly reduce video quality, even when there is sufficient lighting. For illustration, it smooths out jerky hand movements, providing a motion that follows almost as if using a gimbal. It effectively mitigates small hand shakiness during recording, such as when recording from a still position, from vehicles, etc. Thus, except for highly shaky situations like walking or running, you do not need to carry a heavy and bulky gimbal with this device, making video recording more handy and compact. There is an option to record videos in high bitrate. Some of the cons I noticed include the fact that, even though the video camera quality and functions are great, if you try to record at 60 fps or more for an extended period, the phone gets very warm and becomes unusable. 30 fps is ideal for long recordings, over 10 minutes, as it keeps the phone's temperature under 40°C. Super steady mode and horizontal lock work well only if there is good lighting, making them seem more like marketing features. The selfie front camera's image quality is inconsistent because it can sometimes add an extra lighting effect to beautify images, which may give an unnatural look. If you try to turn off all beautifying effects using 'pro mode', the images appear below average and washed out. For front-facing video recording, there are no automatic beautify effects, and the quality is quite good, comparable to standard definition video. Meanwhile, the rear camera video footage has an HD appearance. Thus, a software update may fix the front camera image quality issue. However, the rear camera pictures look nice and detailed. The mic is not very sensitive during video recording; thus, the sound volume during recording is low compared to other devices. This can be mitigated by using 'pro video' mode, clicking on the mic icon, and then adjusting the decibel sensitivity according to your needs, with +12 providing maximum sensitivity. It has a useful feature: the zoom mic function, which blocks noise and helps selectively record the subject's volume, making it beneficial for indoor, studio-based video content. Dark mode is available, but many apps do not respond to it as effectively as Xiaomi's OS. Also, unlike Xiaomi, dark mode cannot be individually turned on or off. The same applies to applying network restrictions for individual apps to block ads. Thus, compared to Xiaomi and Redmi mobiles, Samsung has more software restrictions. Developer options reset soon after the phone is restarted or powered off, requiring changes to the developer options every time they need to be used. Charging is slow, especially if the phone is on while charging, but if you keep it off during charging, It charges quickly from less than 5% to 80% in around 1 hour using a 67-watt charger, which draws around 30 watts, even though it claims to support up to 25 watts. Anyway, it's safe to charge with a 33-watt charger or one with lower wattage, as the device gets very hot during charging, even though there isn't much time saved compared to using higher-watt chargers. When tested with a watt-hour meter, it typically draws around 18 watts even if the charger is rated for 33 watts. The usual charging time is 1 hour, irrespective of which watt charger is used. If you are concerned about using high-wattage chargers that cause the device to get very warm and wish to charge slowly at a safe temperature using such chargers, there is an option for that too. Simply disable the fast charging option in the battery settings. The battery protection feature, which automatically cuts off charging at 80%, works even when the phone is off, so there is no need to monitor the charging level during charging. There is no IR blaster; thus, remote functions are limited to those that work on Wi-Fi. In summary, this is essentially a compact camera phone bundled with good AI and other editing features. Because of the fast CPU, it runs quickly and also provides good battery life. The major con lies in the lack of customization options available for individual apps, especially regarding dark mode features, which some might find uncomfortable when working with certain apps that do not support dark mode by themselves. One workaround for this is to enable the color inversion shortcut in the accessibility section, which, when enabled, inverts the colors displayed on the screen, transforming white areas to black. Design-wise, it has nice small round edges on all four sides without affecting the phone's width, unlike that of the Xiaomi 17, which has large round edges that make the phone feel smaller. It has some thickness, and the metal bezels look and feel nice. The screen is not completely matte; instead, it is a bit reflective, like TV panels, which gives more brightness to the contents displayed on the screen. Since it's a perfectly flat screen and the bezels have a matte finish, especially with the black colour version, there is no issue of light reflections from the edges, even when sitting under light sources. Thus, the eye comfort level is great. Overall, it's not an all-rounder mobile device; instead, it is more meant for specific functions, especially for taking good quality pictures and videos using rear cameras and for quick editing and sharing without the need to transfer to other devices like traditional cameras, due to the fast processor and bundled AI features. 5 stars!

I liked the design of the s25 better with the simple camera lenses protruding out, this one is a bit too weird looking in the camera bump area. performance and battery life is top notch. Camera is amazing as well. I havent had any heating issues.

Heating issue! Signal Issue! Bad Battery and average Camery

I am coming from iphone 12 thinking this wiuld be worthy upgrade! Boy how wrong i was! Goods: No lags, screen is good.Dex is FUN TO USE! Bads: 1.Overheating even on normal usage! Didnt expect this from phone of this stature! Makes Phone unusable and in hot day you have to keep the phone aside!Feels like carrying hot pack in the pocket!! 2. Battery doesnt last entire day! 3. Signal strength is really poor! My Dad's Iqoo worth 13k has better signal than this phone! 4.Camera performance is okayish! Imagez are washex out, Doesnt looks natural. Iphone excels !! Samsung should really work on these items . Exynos doesnt justify the price tag this phone comes with!! Think again before you buy this!! Go for Ultra! Or goto iphone17. Update :software glitches, wallpaper keeps changing automatically - this is fixed with the sw update. Update After 2months - Heating issue ,still continues making it really difficult to do phone calls , as the phone is always hot. Temp remain always >40°C on simple usage. Turning on the location takes it to >45°C.
