Samsung 4K TV UA55CUE60AKLXL FAQs
The two 10W speakers are loud enough for normal TV and movies. Dolby Atmos processing makes the sound feel a bit wider too. Bass isn't really its strong side, and you can notice that more with action movies or music.
It should be loud enough for a medium or bigger living room if you're sitting at a normal distance. News, sports and regular shows are easy enough to hear. If you want proper bass or that cinema feel, you'll probably end up needing a soundbar.
The rated power is 145W while the TV is running. That's fairly normal for a 55 inch 4K LED TV. Watching it for a few hours a day shouldn't make a huge difference by itself. Actual use will also depend on brightness, picture settings and how long you keep it on.
Yes, the 55 inch screen works well for movies and sports. 4K content looks sharp and the viewing angle is useful when people aren't sitting right in front. It's still a 60Hz panel though, so very fast scenes won't look as smooth as they would on a 120Hz TV.
The TV feels solid enough and the flat body sits properly on the stand. It can also be wall mounted with a suitable bracket. At around 13.1kg, the weight isn't too difficult, but the bracket and wall fitting should be proper.
Samsung gives you sharp 4K picture, HDR10+ and the Tizen interface. LG's webOS can feel a little nicer to use depending on what you're used to. For normal movie watching, though, the Samsung already gives a good picture without needing much adjustment.
Sony Bravia models usually have a more natural looking picture and good processing for movies. Samsung tends to look brighter and more colourful, especially with regular 4K streaming. So if you like a punchier picture, Samsung is probably the better fit here.
TCL has the advantage if you want Google Play Store and more Android apps. Samsung's Tizen system is more limited but the main streaming apps open quickly and are easy enough to use. So TCL is better for app choice, while Samsung is fine for the usual Netflix, Prime Video and YouTube use.
Not really. Tizen doesn't have the Google Play Store like Android TV does, so you're mostly using the apps available through Samsung's own platform. The common ones like Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, Hotstar, Zee5 and SonyLiv are already available.
You can use voice control from the remote for supported searches and commands. It works okay for simple things like finding shows or opening apps. Sometimes voice search may not pick things up properly, so having the normal remote buttons is still useful.
For cricket, football and normal console gaming, 60Hz is fine. Motion Xcelerator helps with fast movement and the 6ms response time is decent for casual play. It's not really made for high frame rate gaming, though.
Phone mirroring is supported through Samsung's smart features and SmartThings. It generally works when both devices are connected to the same network. Laptop mirroring can be less straightforward, and sometimes the TV just doesn't find the computer.
No camera is listed as part of the box contents. The TV doesn't come with a camera already attached either. There seems to be some confusion around this model, so if video calls are important, check the compatible camera setup before buying.
Dead pixels have been reported as an issue with some units. It's a good idea to check the whole screen after installation, especially using a plain white or black image. If you find a problem early, it's easier to raise it for replacement.
Yes, three HDMI ports are enough for a set top box, console and soundbar at the same time. The one USB port is a little limiting if you also want to plug in storage or another accessory. Bluetooth audio can help if you want to avoid another cable.
