TCL Series 5 40 Inch QLED TV Price Comparison & History in India
Wait Before Buying This TCL TV
At ₹23,990 on Amazon, this TV is at its highest recorded price. TCL Series 5 40V5C has climbed overall from its ₹15,490 low. It’s also well above the tracked average of ₹19,268. That’s roughly 55% above its lowest price and 25% above average. The record covers 346 days, with Amazon cheapest on every listed date. Amazon is therefore the cheapest platform right now, based on the latest entry.
A casual shopper might miss the timing. This model once sold at a far better level, but recent prices have kept moving upward. Its recent three-month low is already above the average. That matters because today’s price isn’t a short-term bargain. The TCL Series 5 40V5C is a 40-inch QLED television. Screen size doesn’t justify paying near a record high. If you need a TV today, compare other 40-inch models before buying. Otherwise, wait for a sale or a return toward its usual range. The TCL Series 5 40V5C isn’t attractive at this level.

TCL Series 5 40 Inch QLED TV Features & Overview
Usage
In daily viewing the TCL Series 5 delivers crisp 1080p visuals on a 40 inch QLED panel. This isn't 4K, but the color pop and brightness at 300 Candela Per Square Meter keeps scenes lively even in rooms with some glare. The setup is straightforward: wall mount or table mount, thanks to the flexible mounting options. TCL Series 5 40 Inch QLED TV delivers Movies and Picture Quality with HDR10. When you switch to streaming, the built‑in apps from Netflix, Prime Video, Hotstar, and Zee5 feel responsive on Google TV. The remote is light in the hand and the Bluetooth 5.0 connection helps keep the interface snappy.
Capacity and OS
With 8 GB ROM storage and 1 GB RAM, the TV handles Google TV gracefully. The 64-bit Quad Core Processor keeps menus swift, and you can run Prime Video, Netflix, Hotstar and more without hiccups. You don’t notice it until you want to pick something to watch and the search results come up quickly.
Controls and Safety
Two HDMI ports and a single USB port, plus Ethernet and Wi Fi, keep devices connected for a small home setup. The power consumption stays around 80 Watts, and standby power shutoff helps conserve energy. The remote has a tactile feel with a soft click when you press a button, and the IR/Bluetooth control keeps it responsive.
Durability and Installation
The TV arrives with Onsite warranty on the product and you can mount it on a wall or place it on a table. The build feels sturdy for daily family use, and the Wall Mount & Table Mount compatibility offers flexible setup options.

TCL Series 5 40 Inch QLED TV FAQs
The 24W Dolby Audio speakers get loud enough for a normal living room. Voices stay clear, and films have enough punch without adding a soundbar straight away. Sound is one of the better parts here.
The voice remote uses two AAA batteries and pairs over Bluetooth. It also has IR, so basic controls aren't tied only to Bluetooth. There are no rechargeable cells in the remote.
Side seating stays practical because the panel is rated for a 178-degree viewing angle. Colours and the picture remain visible when you're not sitting directly in front. This works well in rooms where the sofa sits at an angle.
It includes multiple eye-care settings for longer viewing sessions. You can use them during evening streaming when a brighter picture feels tiring. They don't change the TV's resolution or refresh rate.
Both setups are supported, and the box includes the table stand. It weighs 4.58kg with the stand and 3.15kg without it. The 40-inch body is easy enough to place on a regular TV unit.
TCL V5C gives you a QLED panel, Google TV, and built-in Chromecast in one setup. Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, and JioHotstar are already covered through the smart platform. It's a good pick when those streaming basics matter more than chasing a bigger screen.
TCL V5C suits a compact room with its 40-inch Full HD QLED panel. Google TV, voice search, and built-in apps are ready without another streaming box. Pick it when those are the features you actually need.
TCL V5C has common apps like Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, and JioHotstar. The built-in Chromecast also lets you cast from a phone without adding a separate stick. For app-heavy viewing, its Google TV setup is the strong reason to choose it.
Streaming apps look sharp and colourful on the QLED panel. Traditional set-top box channels can look softer, lower-resolution, and duller beside them. This TV is better suited to app streaming than old cable broadcasts.
Startup and menu changes can feel slightly slow on TCL V5C. The 1GB RAM and quad-core processor handle the apps, but navigation isn't always quick. Once playback starts, regular streaming works properly.
Vivid and Movie modes can look hazy instead of giving a clean picture. Try changing the picture settings before judging the panel. The default modes need some adjustment before they look right.
Installation can happen at delivery, but smaller-town support has been a weak point. Some locations have needed private installation instead of TCL service. Check local installation coverage before ordering if you live outside a major city.
Built-in Chromecast handles casting from compatible phones and apps. Display mirroring is also supported for sending the phone screen to the TV. You don't need a separate Chromecast dongle for those functions.
Rated running power consumption is 80W, with standby listed at 0.5W. That is manageable for everyday viewing in a bedroom or living room. The energy-saving standby mode keeps power draw low when the TV is off.
Yes, it has an Ethernet port alongside Wi-Fi. Wired internet suits streaming when the router signal doesn't reach the TV properly. You can still use the built-in apps without relying on a wireless connection.
Two HDMI ports cover a set-top box and one console at the same time. Add another HDMI device and you'll need to swap cables or use a switch. This is fine for a simple setup, but limited for several devices.
Bluetooth 5.0 is listed for remote pairing, not specifically for headphones. The TV does include an optical audio output and speaker output port for other audio setups. Headphone support isn't confirmed in the listed specifications.
Real & Verified Reviews of TCL Series 5 40 Inch QLED TV
TCL good brand
Superb quality product, value for money
Value for money and best in this segment (price range)
I recently purchased the TCL V5C TV and have been using it as my primary TV for the last 7 days. Overall, it is a solid television that excels in a few key areas, though it has one noticeable downside depending on how you watch your content. Here is my experience after a week of use: Sound Quality: This was a pleasant surprise. The built-in speakers are excellent and deliver clear, robust audio. It gets more than loud enough to comfortably fill a large living room, so there's no immediate need to buy a separate soundbar. Picture Quality (Streaming Apps): If you are consuming content directly through the built-in smart apps, the QLED picture quality is top-notch. The colors are vibrant, and the image is sharp and detailed. Picture Quality (Set-Top Box): This is where the TV struggles a bit. If you are still connected to a traditional cable set-top box, you will notice a drop in visual fidelity. Standard cable broadcasts look somewhat low-resolution and a bit dull compared to the crystal-clear quality you get when streaming via apps.
Satisfied
Satisfied. 32 inch TV Full HD offers solid reliability and great overall performance. Sound quality is surprisingly good.
Terrible aftersales. Do not buy.
TV suddenly started showing lines and dead zones after 10months from purchase. Claimed brand warranty, but a 3rd party technician was sent. The technician recorded video and claimed issue occured due to external impact. They claimed they will get paid irrespective of issue resolution so they do not care about my issue, it is on TCL if they will honor warranty. There was no sign of external damage in the TV, not even a scratch. Within 48hrs the service request was closed stating issue resolved. On checking with TCL it was confirmed that 3rd party technician reported that TV was opened by unauthorised technician so void of warranty. This tv is still under brand warranty but there is no way to get it repaired. Go ahead if you want a use and throw item at 25k.

Good but storage is too low and installation service is very poor
The TV delivers good picture and features for the price, but it takes a little time to start and feels slow during the first few minutes after boot, which seems common on TCL Google TV unless quick start/standby options are enabled. Day‑to‑day navigation improves once it settles, but initial responsiveness could be better for a smoother experience. Storage is another drawback: while it’s advertised as 8 GB, the usable space is around 4.3 GB after system files, leaving only about 1–2 GB once a few apps are installed, which is tight for a smart TV and matches what many Android/Google TV devices show in practice. This limited free storage means app updates and installs require frequent cleanup, which isn’t ideal for heavy app users. The biggest disappointment is installation and support: it’s been 18 days with no technician visit, so installation had to be done personally after waiting far beyond reasonable timelines for a basic setup service in India. A technician called only to ask for photos for warranty and then stopped responding, which aligns with broader complaints about delayed installs and poor follow‑through from TCL service networks in India. Overall: Good TV once it’s up and running, but slow initial performance, very limited usable storage, and an unacceptable installation experience make the start frustrating—TCL should urgently improve post‑sales service and responsiveness in India.
⭐ Excellent Picture Quality in a Compact Smart TV ⭐
The TCL 32V5C Full HD Smart QLED Google TV offers impressive picture clarity with vibrant colours and sharp visuals for its size. The bezel-less metallic design gives it a premium look, while the 24W Dolby Audio delivers clear and immersive sound. Google TV is smooth and easy to use, with quick access to popular streaming apps. Overall, it's a fantastic value-for-money TV for bedrooms, small living rooms, or personal entertainment setups. 📺✨
Nice choice
Quality seems good so far. The display is perfect. Features are ok as per price. Value for money. The remote control has standard features.
