Nothing Phone 4a and 4a Pro Compare Key Specs Prices and Colors
Pricing, storage and colour options
Nothing is launching the Phone 4a and Phone 4a Pro with notable hardware upgrades and a refreshed design, with sales slated to begin on March 13. The company indicated a price rise compared with the previous generation, attributing part of the increase to supply constraints in RAM and memory used by large AI-focused buyers. Nothing also introduced new colour options, including pink, marking a first for both models. The pricing highlights come with a summary of available storage configurations and colour choices as listed by the company and in accompanying material.
Variant pricing shows a step up over the prior generation. An earlier post from Carl Pei, founder and CEO of Nothing, referenced a price uptick in light of RAM and memory supply dynamics. Below are the current price points for the two models across storage options:
- 8GB + 128GB: Nothing Phone 4a Rs 31,999; Phone 4a Pro Rs 39,999
- 8GB + 256GB: Nothing Phone 4a Rs 34,999; Phone 4a Pro Rs 42,999
- 12GB + 256GB: Nothing Phone 4a Rs 38,999; Phone 4a Pro Rs 45,999
Colour options at launch include white, black, blue and pink for the Nothing Phone 4a, while the Phone 4a Pro will be sold in black, silver and pink. Nothing emphasized that the higher priced Pro variant brings a premium unibody aluminium build and a more refined rear design, whereas the standard 4a retains its signature look with a transparent rear panel that exposes interior components.
Design and display changes
The two devices diverge in design cues and build quality. The Phone 4a Pro uses a unibody aluminium frame, while the standard 4a features a transparent rear panel that reveals internal layers and hardware. Nothing positions the Essential Space element on the left sideframe, leading to a repositioning of the volume controls to the right. The 4a and 4a Pro both keep the characteristic Glyph LED elements, but the Pro integrates the Glyph Matrix rear display within a larger camera plateau, a departure from the 4a’s more prominent LED bar. The Pro thus aligns more with Nothing’s flagship aesthetics, while the 4a retains a more skeletal, see-through aesthetic on the back.
Display quality differs slightly between the two. The Nothing Phone 4a sports a 6.78-inch 1.5K resolution AMOLED panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits. The Phone 4a Pro uses a slightly larger 6.83-inch 1.5K panel, also at 120 Hz, with a peak brightness of 5,000 nits. Both panels offer 1,600 nits outdoor brightness and 800 nits typical brightness, along with a PWM frequency of 2160 Hz and Gorilla Glass 7i protection. The pro variant tightens bezels to enhance the display-to-body ratio compared with the standard model.
Camera systems and performance
Camera setups on both phones are closely related, but the Pro gains a small but meaningful upgrade. Both phones feature a 50 MP primary sensor with optical image stabilization. The 4a uses a 50 MP sensor rated at 1/1.57-inch, while the 4a Pro uses a 50 MP sensor on a 1/1.56-inch format with additional tuning. The Pro also incorporates a 50 MP periscope telephoto camera with OIS and a 3.5x optical zoom, plus a secondary 8 MP ultrawide camera with a 120-degree field of view. The standard 4a offers a similar 50 MP primary and ultrawide arrangement but with a different sensor pairing and a reduced zoom capability, capped at 70x digital zoom, compared to the Pro’s 140x digital zoom. Both phones support video recording up to 4K at 30 frames per second and rely on Nothing’s TrueLens Engine 4 for image processing.
Selfie cameras on both devices are listed as a 32 MP sensor on the front, described as a 1/3.44-inch module. In terms of software and ISP performance, the Pro’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset provides a bit more headroom for processing through demanding scenes, aided by the same TrueLens Engine 4 pipeline.
Performance, battery, and charging
Powering the two devices are different Snapdragon processors. The standard Nothing Phone 4a runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, while the Phone 4a Pro is equipped with the more capable Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. Both are octa‑core processors, with the Gen 4 topping out at 2.8 GHz and the 7s Gen 4 at 2.7 GHz. Storage and memory configurations are supported by UFS 3.1 flash for smoother data access and app performance, which Nothing notes as part of its packaging for the updated lineup.
Battery capacity has been increased across the board. Both the Phone 4a and the 4a Pro carry a 5,400 mAh battery, up from the 5,000 mAh seen in the Phone 3a series. Nothing does not include a charger in the box, but both devices support charging at up to 50 W. The company also highlights compatibility with Nothing’s standalone 65 W GaN charger for faster top-ups.

Availability and market positioning
The Nothing Phone 4a and Phone 4a Pro will go on sale starting March 13. Pricing reflects a substantial step up over the prior generation, with the Pro variant commanding a higher price due to the premium build and enhanced rear display features. The two devices share much of the same camera framework and display hardware, but the Pro model carries the more powerful chipset and refined chassis, as Nothing frames it in its communications for this launch.
