Key specifications and what OnePlus says it offers

OnePlus says the Nord 6 is built around three headline features: a 9,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset and IP69K durability. It also ships with OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16. The company says the phone gets four major OS updates and six years of security patches.

• Battery: 9,000mAh silicon-carbon battery
• Display: 165Hz display
• Processor: Snapdragon 8s Gen 4
• Durability: IP69K rating
• Software: OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16
• Update promise: four major OS updates, six years of security patches

OnePlus has said the battery can last 2.5+ days, and it has also highlighted 165 fps gaming support on titles including BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile. The Nord 6 is positioned as a successor to the Nord 5, with the company also putting forward the higher battery capacity and refresh rate as major changes.

The phone starts at Rs 38,999, which is around Rs 7,000 more than the Nord 5. That price difference comes against the backdrop of wider smartphone price increases this year, driven by rising memory costs, according to the summary shared with the launch details.

Should you buy the OnePlus Nord 6

OnePlus is presenting the Nord 6 as a mid-range phone that stands out on battery and gaming performance. It also brings durability improvements with the IP69K rating. The company has not added a telephoto lens, and the phone uses a polycarbonate frame. Those are part of the trade-offs listed in the launch note.

For buyers focused on photography, the Nord 6 is being compared with the OnePlus 13R, which is listed at Rs 41,999 and offers a triple camera setup with 2x optical zoom and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The Nord 6 does not include that telephoto setup.

For most buyers under Rs 40,000, OnePlus is pitching the Nord 6 as a strong option if battery life and gaming are the main priorities. The sale begins at 12 PM IST today across Amazon India, OnePlus.in, OnePlus Experience stores and select offline outlets.

OnePlus said a full review will follow shortly.
