Nothing OS 4.1 Rolls Out to Nothing Phone 3 With Essential Voice and April 2026 Patches

Nothing OS 4.1 starts reaching the Nothing Phone 3

Nothing OS 4.1 Rolls Out Nothing OS 4.1 to the Nothing Phone (3), bringing a set of feature updates while keeping the phone on Android 16. The device had been running Nothing OS 4.0, also based on Android 16, before this update started arriving.

The rollout comes after Nothing launched the Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro last month with Nothing OS 4.1 preinstalled. For the Phone (3), the new software does not include an Android version bump, but it does add Essential Voice, a feature announced earlier today.

Nothing also says the update brings a new lock screen clock and expands Live Updates across more parts of the phone. According to the company, Live Updates now work on the lock screen, in the notification panel and through the Glyph interface.

What the update changes

The update also changes the Essential Notifications interface, which now has a cleaner layout and new descriptions. Nothing OS 4.1 for the Phone (3) includes the April 2026 security patches, along with improvements to audio call quality when the phone is connected to Nothing audio devices. The company also lists enhanced video call stability for third-party apps.

  • Device: Nothing Phone (3)
  • Software: Nothing OS 4.1
  • Base system: Android 16
  • New feature: Essential Voice
  • New display option: Lock screen clock
  • Live Updates: Lock screen, notification panel and Glyph interface
  • Security patch level: April 2026
  • Other changes: Cleaner Essential Notifications UI, audio call quality improvements, video call stability improvements

Nothing says the rollout will not stop with the Phone (3). The same update is set to reach the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro, the Phone (2a) series, the Phone (2), CMF Phone 1 and CMF Phone 2 Pro later this month. The Phone (3a) Lite is scheduled to get Nothing OS 4.1 in early May.

The Phone (3) was already on Android 16 through Nothing OS 4.0, so this release is focused on feature additions and refinements rather than a system upgrade. The current rollout adds to the software path Nothing has already taken with the Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro, which launched last month on the newer software version. Nothing has not announced any different Android version for the Phone (3) in this update.

Nothing Phone (3) 5G pricing details were also listed alongside the update information. The device is shown in 256GB storage with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage with 16GB RAM configurations.

  • Nothing Phone (3) 5G 256GB 12GB RAM: $766.57
  • Nothing Phone (3) 5G 512GB 16GB RAM: ₹64,949 / $884.83

Nothing OS 4.1 is now starting to reach the Phone (3), with the wider rollout list extending to several other Nothing and CMF devices later this month and into early May. The update keeps the Android 16 base in place and focuses on interface changes, stability updates and the new Essential Voice feature.

Software rollout schedule

The rollout sequence places the Nothing Phone (3) first, followed by the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro, the Phone (2a) series, the Phone (2), CMF Phone 1 and CMF Phone 2 Pro later this month. The Phone (3a) Lite is listed for early May. Nothing has not said anything else about a different update path in the material provided.
