Xiaomi Pad 8 India Launch With Snapdragon 8s Gen 4
Xiaomi has confirmed that the Pad 8 will launch in India on February 28, 2026, tying the tablet debut to the company’s global event alongside the Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra smartphones. The livestream for the global event starts at 2:00 PM CET in Barcelona, which translates to 6:30 PM IST for Indian viewers. Officials described the Pad 8 as the slimmest tablet the company has released to date.
A dedicated landing page on Xiaomi’s site confirms the India launch on February 28, the same day as the global reveal. The microsite also reveals accessory support for the Pad 8, including the Xiaomi Focus Pen Pro and the Xiaomi Focus Keyboard, which features adaptive backlit keys and a gesture-enabled touchpad.
Tech details from the microsite show the Pad 8 is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset and is expected to run Android 16 with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 skin. The tablet carries a 9,200 mAh battery. In China, the Pad 8 was launched with the same chipset and offered up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, along with an 11.2-inch 3.2K LCD display and a 144 Hz refresh rate. If the global variant shares these specifications, it could also support 67W charging and sport a slim 5.75 mm profile.
Xiaomi plans to launch its Pad 8 in India on 28th February 2026 at a global Xiaomi 17 series launch event which will begin at 6:30 PM IST. The tablet will be available to consumers on the day of its announcement, globally and locally.
Even though we do not know at this point in time if these details will be released when the product launches, consumers should expect to learn of the pricing, availability and detailed configurations for the Pad 8 at that time.
With respect to performance, the Pad 8 should provide sufficient processing capabilities for executing typical productivity applications and games, utilising the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. It sits above many mid-tier chips but below flagship class silicon.
Battery life: A 9,200 mAh battery is noted and is expected to translate into long use between charges under heavy workloads, as the hardware and software are tuned for efficiency.
Display and multimedia: The tablet’s 11.2-inch 3.2K LCD panel with up to 144 Hz refresh rate positions it for high-quality visuals and smooth scrolling for videos, browsing, and gaming.
Productivity: With stylus and keyboard support, the Pad 8 is presented as a device for note-taking, drawing, and multitasking with keyboard workflows, appealing to students and professionals seeking flexibility from a tablet.
