AO Smith must make suitable to set up for low water presssure
Requesting AO SMITH to advise/ do the needed change in heater internals to address inlet minimum pressure requirement issue. Service specialist installed and after connecting to loft tank water giving 80 cm head of water to inlet, noticed no water could come at outlet. Earlier sent emails to AO Smith of 80 cm water 0.08 bar ok for heater operation without use of pump. No proper response. Since already having 2 AO Smith almost same model but with water head 0.8 bar from building terrace, due to super quality experience ordered again. Have Usha water heater working with loft tank head 0.08 bar. Service person recommended to connect to terrace 24 hrs supply of borewell pumped ground water at 0.8bar pressure but we cannot take bath in ground water. We prefer to use loft tank stored corporation water. AO Smith to help remove and component inside which is preventing filling up of heater if pressure is low 0.08 bar. Definitely many Customers must be looking to use this heater with water from loft tank installed above the heater by about 50 cms, AO Smith to help by sending Engineer to make necessary change in internal components arrangement. Thanks In continuation to Sept review, to update the status of use of heater, now after a month still not able to put the heater in service. Put an inline pump which gives flow through the heater but not appreciable flow. Same inline pump for other taps when tried give good flow. This heater is not suitable to use if water is from overhead loft tanks. There is no spec of minimum pressure needed. There is no information if heater holds with it required amount of water inside even if outlet valve opened. to avoid heating without water. Also for pump to automatically start there must be flow detected by pump’s flow switch. Heater when to put on is a dead end for water flow since heated water used later only. Have not still put power on because no proper commissioning help. Earlier purchased 2 AO Smith heaters. They are working well because water supply is from the terrace of the building about 24 metres high (2.4 bar pressure)

AO Smith 15-liter geyser. Model SDS- Green-015 I have been using a 6-liter AO Smith geyser for the last 8 years, and it has been an excellent product. However, the water in our area is very hard and contains a lot of iron. Even after the tank is cleaned, the water stored inside the geyser can leave hard-water and iron deposits in the tank. I get the geyser cleaned every year by an authorised service centre using a special cleaning powder, which costs extra. But honestly, AO Smith geysers are awesome. I recently replaced my 6-liter model only because I needed a larger capacity. Otherwise, if you service and clean it properly every year, you should not face any major problems. I am also using an Eco Crystal Water Guard to soften the hard water and prevent extra dirt and impurities from entering and accumulating inside the geyser tank. External filter: Micron Filter with Physical Softener 3/4" you can purchase it from authorised website. Using this type of external filter can help increase the life of your geyser. After a new installation, you may notice a slight sound coming from the tank. This is normal because the tank has a glass-coated surface. Overall, it is an awesome product. Castomer Care survice is too fast and smooth. Installation is free, but the pipe cost is extra. This product hold on heated water approx 5hrs in its storage tank.
